Vitamin D Presents “Hard Times”
Release Date: 2010.02.24
8 Week Exclusive on Beatport
Monk One – superb blend of samples and beats.
Greg Fenton – makes for a very refreshing change
Jamie Topham – a cool sampler in these ‘hard times’ :: reminds me of classic madlib / j-dilla at times… quality stuff with ‘9000 Look-a-likes’ just plain runnin’ t’ings!… keep ‘em coming!…
René Josquin (m.path.iq) – great sampling, good soundstyling. feeling some freshness in here. will keep my eyes and ears on vitamins. :)
Ben Mono – like the production and the attitude. Thumbs up.
Freddy Fresh – yes it’s pretty dope … I’ll play ‘em
Steve (Fort Knox Five) – Really nice crunchy cinematic beat
Kid Loco – Really really good stuff.
Rusty (All Good Funk Alliance) – I loved 9000 look-a-likes, but thought the other songs could have used some more work to make them a bit more complete. Overall nice EP, would like to check out the LP for sure
Ginger Perry – All around sick beats. Thank you.
Renato Cohen – What a great record!!! Can’t wait to play “No Love..” Very nice cover by the way :)
Wim Plug (Kraak & Smaak) – top release guys; one for the headz sets!
Slim (Goodgroove Records) – THis is a really cool track, the beat is solid. I would like to get all 20 tracks for Vitamin D please.
DJ Wash – Nice release, got one track from Vitamin D that I really like. This EP got a cool downbeat vibe.
DJ DRM – Crackly warm goodness. There’s a lot to like about Vitamin D’s production sensibilities. Hearing echos of classic Pork Recordings material at times..really takes me back. Don’t love everything, but it definitely has some very memorable moments.
Terry Matthew (5 Magazine) – for review

The Chilled Colores EP on Cold Busted from Ilya Mosolov is smooth, engaging and bright, it’s an EP of thoughtful compositions with infectious beats and electronic sounds. This young musician from Russia who has a background in classical symphonic music, breakbeat music and sound mastering for rock bands delivers six tasty tracks. The first track ‘5 Minutes’ eases us into his sound with ominous soothing synths, a delicate piano and progresses into downtempo drums. ‘Wave of Jazz’ bursts into playful high hats, a bass line and loving pianos, filtered sweeps, swinging with a nice jazzy feel. ‘Angels Sin’ begins with banging kick and snare drums, building up to a euphoric breakdown, a feeling much like sun on your face, drums and melody returning with zest. ‘Blooming Cherry Tree’ showcases some interesting drums and glitch affects with more lovely piano notes and funky riffs. ‘Kiwi’ starts off like a music box, seducing with beats and thoughtful sounds. ‘Life in Pleasure’ closes the album with feel good soundscapes and a groovy beat, all in all a warm and colorful album perfect for summer lounging.
