‘Couch Constellations’ from Denver resident Drop Logik is a Funk and Electronic journey, an experimental, rhythmic, Glich-Hop full-length album of dope beats, sounds and sampling. Manipulated aptly and with style, ‘Today Is Clear’ immediately grabs you with full sub bass kick drums, and sounds that sing and bleep in harmony with hazy melodic synths. ‘Shine On’ is a tune that moves gently and gracefully with drum juggling beat repeats and light xylophone synths wavering with slight affects and patterns. Following is ‘Dirtboxfunk’ a tune with steady impactful beats, snares and fatty bass notes jiving, fly break beats and soulful samples. ‘Pass The’ is another playful and creative tune with steady but glitched out drum beats, a funky melody with high synths jamming and fun samples peppered. ‘Master’s Plan’ really gets grooving the deeper you go with purple glossy synths, jovial and innovative beats around 100 BPM, a tune passionately sculpted. ‘Friendafraid’ ends the album on a slower chill note of underwater and 8 bit sounding synths a steady undulating beat, and boss sludgy bass. With vintage samples and keenly crafted beats and traverses of interesting synths and instruments, ‘Couch Constellatons’ really takes you to inspired horizons you will be happy to experience.
