‘Ménage À Trois’ the first full release from France’s Gofrilab blends upbeat Hip Hop instrumentals, Dub and all around fresh, exotic and cultured styles and techniques. The track ‘Dub Style’ evokes carefree delight – reggae piano notes, affective delays, and a beat at 85BPM with stepping snares and a bassline that grooves. Songs like ‘To Croon’ and ‘Big Up’ hit you with fresh and funky Hip Hop instrumentals, beats to bust a move to, clever production arrangements and drum work with impact. The following track ‘Do Mexico’ plays with a Mexican trumpet sample, looped, cut and chopped into a creative beat and melody, with flavorful and upbeat drums at about 120BPM for a lush fun tune. Ending the eight-track album is ‘Spice DUB’ slowing down the pace with a Dubby, relaxing and easy going beat, a prominent kick drum and trumpet with reverb, swinging in tranquil harmonization.
