Pstgrd from California releases his first EP on Cold Busted called ‘Subjects’ a post modern Soul and R&B influenced, five track album of Hip Hop, Downtempo and beat manipulating goodness.  Full of head nodding and flavorful tunes songs like ‘Prime’ invokes a Latin vibe, playful piano scales, horn staccatos, beat repeats and finger snapping snares.  ‘Thankyou’ cleverly uses a wistful R&B inspired sample with dope beats and keen rhythms.  ‘Solstice’ showcases full electronic soundscapes, a subtle cymbal and down tempo beats, bleeps and a deep bass synth.  ‘Tonic’ ends the album on a jazzier note with laid back sax, energetic beats, percussion and poignant loops and effects.  With style, production techniques and inspiring influences, the ‘Subjects’ EP from Pstgrd has undeniable groove.
