Dpek and Cold Busted bring you the Sofa Bits EP, fueled with flavorful hip-hop beats that sound straight from a freshly squeezed orange. Evoking nostalgia with classic hip-hop and funky down tempo, the psychedelic melodies and witty samples create seven nicely flowing terse tracks. While listening one can’t help but smile and agree with the artist’s statement that his music sounds like “Chill-out music for people on coffee”. Although mellow in nature his beats are peppered with clever samples, hi hats, bleeps and creative sounds that keep one’s attention. Perhaps the darkest track, ‘Kjeri’ kicks off with an energetic groove shaped by a warm bassline and ‘Asleep Near You’ ends the album on an introspective melodic note. Part of a collective of music artists with similar tastes, the Giro Movement, Dpek from Slovenia kicks off his first release on Cold Busted with a bang.
