Ilya Mosolov releases his second full length on Cold Busted called ‘Touch My Soul’ a mesmerizing Breakbeat album with lush melodies, instruments and electronic sounds.  ‘Learn To Do Miracles’ begins with a light piano riff, warm soundscapes and drops in with beats at around 120 BPM, progresses, flows and ends beautifully.  ‘Lights of Paradise’ sails in with bright synths, bleeps and upbeat drums with subtle glitching effects and a posh melody.  Following is ‘Volga’ with warm strings, and playful beats dropping into acoustic bars and positive notes, the guitar compelling and fresh, the electronic resonance sweet.  ‘Tlaloc’ features active acid basslines and wonky melodies, the beats progressive yet gentle with layers of light bongo drums and piano notes giving more life to the tune.  ‘Raindrops’ splatters in with high synths, piano scales and notes, with a gratifying upbeat rhythm, light snare hits and slightly distorted mid and sub bass humming for a full sound.  ‘Salamander’ switches gears into broken beats and erupts into faster Jungle break beats and amen breaks at around 175 BPM with a light sub bass pulsing, soundscapes and airy synths.  True to his background in classical symphonic music and love for electronic music the album reflects Ilya’s influences and innovation.  ‘Touch My Soul’ is uplifting, sincere and features loungey and melodic Breakbeat music of different shades with keen composition and effects.

Stone Cold Busted 1 is an eclectic compilation of tracks featuring current and new artists signed to Cold Busted and includes a 63 minute bonus DJ mix done by Vitamin D.   With over 20 different artists and a variety of styles and sounds, the compilation and DJ mix are ear perking treats.  Artists that have released on Cold Busted such as JK Soul, Gramatik, and Green Street showcase fresh tracks along with new comers such as The Soul Pilot, Native, Paul Schulleri and more.  The mix starts out smooth with Trip Hop and soulful, funky beats like ‘New Generation’ by Gramatik and Brale with clean and subtle cuts and scratches throughout the mix.  The feel good vibe continues with a notable mix into Belle’s gorgeous vocals and beats with the track ‘Delicious Delicacies’.  More mellifluous tunes are presented such as ‘Radio Trauma’ by Sixfingerz as well as playful and grooving tunes like Electric Booty Call’s ‘Mystic Bang’ mixed flawlessly into the hilarious and funky ‘Organic Caterpillars’ by Dogfight.  The second half of the mix explores more minimal and experimental beats, IDM, Downtempo and Jazzy flavors with crunchy beats and live instruments such as ‘Still Alive’ by the Great Red Shark, ‘A Moment’ by Extraordinary and ‘Green Glass Jazz’ by CHD Vs. Street Bangerz Volume 2 the second installment from Gramatik delivers infectious beats, rhythms and samples, instrumental Hip Hop, Funk and Soul defining once again the street sound of today.  Embarking on a Fall 2009 tour and still fresh with the success of Street Bangerz Volume 1, Gramatik holds nothing back in this 19 track heavy weight release from Cold Busted that music lovers, DJs, Hip Hop heads and Soul and Funk aficionados will adore.  Kicking it off proper are the tracks ‘The Culture’, ‘I’m Doin My Thang’ and ‘Tearin’ It Up’ making a statement, with clean, feel good classically influenced and instrumentally perfected beats.  Pleasing our ears and minds more soulfully crafted tracks appear such as ‘Street Soul 101’, ‘Boom Bap Reinstated’ and ‘Lonely and Cold’ in which familiar loops, aptly manipulated beats, chopped, repeats and cuts are freshly served.  Experimentation with other genres occurs in tracks like the classical music inspired ‘Orchestrated Incident’ with violins sweetly purring over fresh beats, as well as ‘Hit That Jive’ a playful jazzy piece with fat beats and a big band vibe.  Some songs take us into the Downtempo Chill Out realm, tracks like ‘What More Can I Say’ and ‘Makes Me Wonder’, ‘Don’t You Know’ are steamy, introspective, plush and pour out deep soulful head nodding beats, riffs and rhythms.   Street Bangerz Volume 2 comes across as diverse, influenced by Classical, Jazz, Blues and more, a cultured, instrumental and expressive Hip Hop album from the rich and sonically dexterous mind of Slovenia’s Gramatik.
